As a measure of reducing risk due to disaster, lives and livelihood of poor families. More than 30000 members covered every year.
Two final year school children of the SHG were given Rs.1200 each as an educational scholarship. 15200 students availed the scholarship.
The objective of preparing poor children to compete with the students from the rich background a new program was designed which intends to give the quality of education to the poor. Promoted community coaching centres, given special coaching in the academic subjects, promoted cultural skills, formed and strengthened education committee - CSR Program.
Community Based Disaster Risk Management programme was organized. Participatory risk assessment carried out. The community also prepared a contingency plan for the disasters flood and cyclone.

Kalvi Kendra two cluster resource centres in the coastal area. Disaster preparedness among the community and school safety programme to the school going children were organized. Relief activities in 20 villages to 4500 affected families of Thane, the ghostly cyclone devastated a part of Tamil Nadu. Immediate relief also extended to the affected communities in South Tamil Nadu. Immediate relief provided to 5000 flood affected families in Chennai slums and other Districts. Fumigation process had been carried out in Chennai slums with the support of Godrej.
NABFINS [Nabard Financial Services Limited]
Kalvi Kendra facilitates linkages with NABFINS to provide credit facility to the women for promotion, expansion, commercialization of agriculture and allied livelihood activities. The repayment of the loan is 100%. The credit linkage has been made a tune of 187 crores as on March 2020.
ICICI
Kalvi Kendra also facilitated linkage with ICICI bank to help people in vain. ICICI bank have provided about Rs.35 crores.
Low income segments and women in rural and semi-urban areas were identified and linked them with the SPHM organization and facilitated to avail financial assistance to construct 150 houses.
This programme aims to eliminate open defecation to improve health, hygiene and sanitation in 209 villages. It is being achieved through adopting different strategies which break the mindset of the people and inculcate the habit of constructing and using toilets. Constructed 21000 house-hold toilets.
Kalvi Kendra was appointed as a resource organization by the District Administration of Villupuram to prepare the perspective plan for the backward blocks in the district. Kalvi Kendra collected primary data and secondary data by way of applying PLA (Participatory Learning Appraisal) tools. The problems in implementing Government schemes, gaps and the needs of the people were identified and the recommendations were made on the basis of SWOT analysis of each block.
State Planning Commission selected Kalvi Kendra as resource institution to prepare District Human Resource Development Report of Villupuram District. Kalvi Kendra constituted a team of experts and completed the District Human Resource Development Report for Villupuram district.
MKSP (Women farmers Development Programme) supported by NRLM, Govt. of India. An innovative initiative to increase the agriculture production, promote organic farming and marketing the product of 4000 small and marginal farmers. A package of an Intensive training programme for 11 days on applying technology in agriculture, organic farming, producing and using bio-fertilizers and pesticides and marketing the products through producer groups etc. were carried out.
Two organic clusters have been formed and more than 150 women farmers were identified and enrolled as members in the organic clusters. They were given systematic training in organic farming. The keystone foundation imparted training on participatory certification the organic products
